UI/UX Design for UKDT

Project Overview

UKDT is a GBP-based stablecoin created for users interested in cryptocurrencies and Web3 technologies. Similar to USDT but pegged to the British Pound, it aims to offer stability in the volatile crypto market. The project needed a design that appealed to tech-savvy audiences across both an informative platform and a user-friendly portal for transactions, conveying the stability of the coin while balancing a tech-forward feel with confidence in the currency's stability.

The Challenge

The design needed to be tech-oriented while clearly showcasing the stability and reliability of the UKDT coin, which was a design challenge in itself. The portal also needed a safe and intuitive design, as users rely on it to manage their accounts, check balances and perform transactions.

What We Improved

We created a web design with a modern, tech-focused aesthetic that also represents stability and growth, using "Olive Green" (#556B2F) as a primary colour to symbolise stability and growth.

Understanding the Audience & Market

We began with research focused on tech enthusiasts, which helped us identify the visual and functional elements that would appeal to this group.

Visual Identity

To represent stability and trust, we used Olive Green (#556B2F), with Jet Black (#000000) providing a strong, modern contrast and a tech-forward look.

User Interface

For typography, we selected "Space Mono" as the primary font for its futuristic, tech-savvy feel and "Open Sans" for secondary text for its readability and neat look.

User Portal

We emphasised security and ease of use in the portal, where users can log in to check their UKDT balance, view transaction history and perform transactions, with a focus on user-friendliness and easy navigation.

Testing & Feedback

We ran user testing on the website and portal and, with feedback and a few adjustments, brought the final design in line with aesthetic and functional expectations.
