UI/UX Design for Party App

Project Overview

Party App is a dynamic app for young and vibrant audiences that lets users host and join real-life parties. Users can also offer and avail essential party services such as venue booking, catering, DJ services, bouncers and cleaning. The main objective was to grow connections between people beyond the dance floor, so they can enjoy the parties, offer services and connect for business opportunities. For that reason, the design needed to be playful, lively and slightly corporate at the same time.

The Challenge

The main challenge was creating a design that was playful yet professional, and inviting yet organised, for users looking for both entertainment and business opportunities. Because the app has separate sections for partygoers and service providers, it also needed smooth navigation between them.

What We Improved

We delivered a design that looks vibrant but sleek and modern, using Lavender Purple (#C77DFF) to express vibrancy and creativity and the "Supreme" font for a professional touch.

User Research & Personas

We started with surveys, interviews and user testing to understand our audience's needs and pain points, particularly balancing fun with professionalism and keeping navigation easy. This research led to the idea of a premium plan for users looking for exclusive parties with business opportunities.

User Flows & Wireframes

We designed user flows that were intuitive for both partygoers and service providers, and used wireframing sessions to map out the two sides of the app so each mode felt accessible and user-friendly.

Visual Identity

We created a brand identity that resonated with the youthful energy of users while reflecting the app's broader business objectives, selecting Lavender Purple (#C77DFF) and the "Supreme" font after extensive research.

Separating User Experiences

We introduced two distinct modes: Party Mode, where users create, host or join a party and find services, and Service Mode, where users offer or locate party-planning services. This segregation provided clarity and ease of use.

Follow & Premium Features

Working with a constant feedback loop, we designed a follow feature that lets users follow others only if they had hosted parties, adding a layer of exclusivity and promoting active participation, alongside the premium plan for business-focused parties.
